Editorial approach
Useful advice has to earn your trust.
Our job is to make a difficult purchase easier to understand, without pretending that every buyer needs the same answer.
Buyer first
We start with the decision a buyer is trying to make. Grades and terminology matter only when they change appearance, durability, price, confidence or the questions you should ask a seller.
How we support factual claims
We prefer primary sources such as grading laboratories, government consumer guidance and original measurements. Important claims should name or link to their source, and time-sensitive material should carry enough context to be checked again.
What came from the original site
The earlier Engagement Ring Guru contained years of practical notes and buyer questions. We keep useful original insight, check it again and rewrite explanations when the old version no longer meets today's standard.
What we will not invent
We do not fabricate firsthand tests, customer reviews, prices, product availability or conversations with sellers. Estimates in a tool are labelled as estimates. A measured dimension is not presented as though it were calculated from carat weight.
Use of writing and coding tools
Software, including AI-assisted tools, may help with research organisation, drafting, editing, illustration or code. It does not turn an unsupported statement into a fact. Material claims must still be checked against suitable sources, and no tool is allowed to invent experience we did not have.
